What is a RaceRunner?

The RaceRunner is a unique purpose built tricycle without pedals ideal for use by anyone with impaired balance. The bike is designed for multiple activities, including basic mobility, play, family rides, sport and physical fitness.

While new to Australia, the sport of RaceRunning has been gaining popularity since the runners were invented in Denmark in 1991 and it’s now a World Para Athletic event with over 17 countries competing at the World Games.

RaceRunning is suitable for anyone who is unable to functionally walk or run. Open to all ages from 3 to 103 – those who use a wheelchair, walkers or has an unsteady gait – the sport gives athletes with high support needs who cannot compete in a racing wheelchair and/or ambulant running events the unprecedented opportunity for aerobic competition on the athletics track.

A selection of tricycles will be available on the day to trial.

If walking is more your style,
there will be walkers available on the day to try too!
